A collaboration with David Nolan, shot on location in London’s Square Mile and in rural Leicestershire.
“I wanted to take these objects, unchanged for centuries, and reframe them in a contemporary way,” says Nolan. “Shoes, made for dress or labour, in both an urban and a rural setting.”
Simon Brock, one of the last remaining clogmakers in Britain, made the leather, wood and steel clogs for menswear designer Cecile Tulkens. The clothes are from Nolan’s personal collection: Budd, Frank Foster and tailor, Chris Ruocco.
